I dont know if this works with ipp printers, but I configure samba
shared printers by adding the registry entry that shows the printer is
intalled for this user, and nothing else. Then when the users tries to
print the driver and settings is installed from the server, quick and
dirty and it works ;)

example:

-- regfile start --

[HKEY_USERS\TempHive\Printers\Connections\,,pgina2,lp0-fib4-15]
"Server"="\\\\pgina2"
"Provider"="win32spl.dll"

-- regfile --

Note that HKEY_USERS\TempHive is the default ntuser.dat loaded with:

  reg load "HKU\TempHive" "D:\Documents and Settings\Default User\NTUSER.DAT"

and unloaded with:

  reg unload HKU\TempHive

Dont know if it helps, but I hope so.

Regards,

Nils
