Hi list,

when installing a PC, Linux boot disk shows warning / error message:
"Making IDE driver interruptible for hda...
Warning /proc/ide/hd?/settings interface is obsolete..."

Then, first phase of Win XP installation (file copying) is very, very slow, takes about 4 hours. Just as if somebody turned out disk caching (smartdrive not loaded?).

Any ideas?
