When I install Office2003 via a network share (Z:\packages\office2003), it fails saying that it is corrupt. When I run the identical command from E: (the cd-rom), it works fine.
there should be lots of files in the root directory of the CD, but they are marked "hidden". This means, if you use linux to copy the CD you have to use the "unhide" mount option (see man mount, "Mount options for iso9660")..
Ah, silly me... I'm so used to Linux "just doing it right" that I assumed it would make everything visible. <sigh>
