I have drivers under i386/$oem$/$1/... and the installer from the bootdisk seems to find them ok. ie I have the option of selecting them from the menus given by the linux bootdisk before installation begins. I do that, and go ahead with the install. That's the last reference I see to my drivers - they aren't copied to the target machine at all ):
That said, here is the relevant line from C:\netinst\unattended.txt after installation has completed. This is a WinXP installation by the way, although I'm getting the same results from Win2k installs.
