I have found the problem while looking at other settings. As it turns out, config.pl was operating correctly, but not picknig up some settings out of unattend.csv - this was because my computers are named and given Windows ProductIDs etc based on their MAC address. I had this typed correctly, but discovered that the letters of the MAC address need to be in upper case. I changed this in unattend.csv and everything is working.

Perhaps this could be altered for the future? I'm not sure where it would be best to do it. In the sample-config.pl I guess, although I don't know quite enough perl to dig into it. Perhaps at some stage (ie in the next 6 months!) I'll learn a bit more and put the changes in.

Once again, great tool, it's making my life somewhat simpler here with Windows (re-)re-installations.

Cheers,
Greg.

Hi Jeffrey!

I assume ece-test-ua-2.txt belongs in /unattended/site/ (/z/site/),

ack

and I've moved sample-config.pl to config.pl, but unattended still
pulls the default unattend.txt

If I remove the default unattend.txt it acts like there is none and
starts asking for a computer name.

Ok. As far as I see, everything is okay. Maybe it is a security issue? Do you have -rw-r--r-- on those unattend files?

You should double-check your database-settings, on the server and in install/site/config.pl (below "# Set db for mysql interface").

Do you use the sample-config.pl version that shipps with release 4.6? The previous version had two bugs.

Following up to this issue, I have problems of my own.
I haven't found much doco on using this feature, so I'm flying a little blind. I have renamed sample-config.pl to config.pl, and populated install/site/unattend.csv
I have a copy of my unattend.txt in both install/site/ and in install/lib/ to be sure, although as per
http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/unattended/unattended/html/Attic/cjohnson.html?rev=1.2

the one in site overrides the one in lib. The only settings being picked up are from unattend.txt, not from unattend.csv or through any use of config.pl

I have checked permissions, I'm using unattended release 4.6, and I'm using install/site/sample-config.pl completely unchanged except renamed it to config.pl

Cheers,
Greg.
