this scenario can lead to problems with HAL, the hardware abstration layer, especially with laptops. The first phase decides which HAL will be installed. I think your scenario is practically equal to using sysprep, which is faster.
BTW, is there any way to influence which HAL is chosen? For example, in \\server\install\lib\unattend.txt?
I have had problems with older PCs with out-dated BIOS. "ACPI-enabled computer" is always automatically chosen, but "Standard PC" would have been a better choice.
