Good news, I just tested the current Unattended linuxboot and dosboot with the new (released yesterday) VmWare Workstation 5 and all is well! No failures anywhere along the way (just wait a very long time for the OS file copy to begin). So this is a major change and improvement in our ability to run current Unattended installs on vmware.
