Hi, I haven't had your problem exactly, but I've seen the same error message before. In my case it was caused by the permissions on the(Windows 2000) unattended share used to install.
Setting the correct permissions on the unattended folder/directory and forcing them to all files and directories below it solved the problem for me. It might do the same for you. Hope it helps. I can use a sis900 drive for the sis network card and all goes well. As soon as I use a machine with a 3com card in it, everything seems to stop working. It doesn't matter which 3com card I use (3c905c, 3c905b, etc) I get all the way through the questions (creating the unattended file) and start the copy. The machine reboots and goes to its check disk and then reboots again. It comes back up and check the disk again, then throws an error "setup cannot access the CD containing the windows 2000 installation files" I think its trying to access the network files at this point but I cant be certain. When running through the install with the sis drivers, this is the point where it start copying more files and then starts the gui install of windows. I cant seem to figure out the problem at this point. Any help would be appreciated. May be a drive issue for the 3com?
