Well if youuse the linux cd you could just grep /proc for information about the system with perl, but i cant really see why you would need this unless you could automagically pull the data off the machine and insert it into an asset register. That would be neat but probably too much work for such a little benefit

I don't think Unattended was created to get information about your computer hardware or other stuff.
