Were you using the DOS-based boot or the Linux boot?

For comparison, on a 900MHz Dell OptiPlex GX150 here, when using the 4.6
version of the Linux boot CD, the file copying portion of Setup takes
approximately half an hour.  The GUI mode takes more than an hour.

I'd very much like to get smartdrv working in conjunction with the Linux
boot CD, if anyone knows if that's possible.
