Hi all,

My name is Rostislav, I very interested in “Unattended installation.

But the current version doesn’t give the full solution for my issue. I’ll describe it below and if it will interest for you, please let me know.

We have certain quantity of servers. Every 2-3 month I need reinstall all Oses supported by our product (we support x86 and x86_64 arch. for 4 Linux distributions and Windows XP/server Oses). I install on each machine 6-8 Oses in mix mode Linux, kernels and Windows. For this purpose we bring up automatically network installation system. I haven’t problems with Linux installations, but have problems with adding Windows OS to target machine. The problem consists in definition/construction partition table. I build the following partition table (the partition size hasn’t meaning):

            Primary:

            C:/ - 400MB (FAT) – for Windows boot.ini and other files;

            /boot – 200MB (ext3) – for Linux distributions vmlinuz and initrd;

            swap – xxxMB

            Extended partition:

            / - RH;

            / - Fedora;

            / - …;

            Windows XP;

            W2K3SP1;

For windows installations I use RIS (but prepare to have Linux based installation server). The problem is in automatically creation of windows logical partition in unattended installation mode. I need to create partition for windows manually for continue unattended installation.

So, my question is: Do you plan insert multiple/mixed Oses installation to your product in next release?

We will be glad to provide you more required information if needed.

Best regards,

Shaligin Rostislav
