Microsoft disabled the ability to Internet activate many OEM product 
keys back in Feb of 2005 (see 
http://www.pcpro.co.uk/news/69878/microsoft-disables-oem-windows-product-keys.html).

The TechNet article, "Preserving OEM Pre-Activation when Re-installing 
Windows XP", implies that unattended installs from OEM media can be 
performed using a special product key provided in the article 
(MVF4D-W774K-MC4VM-QY6XY- R38TB for 32bit WinXP).

I've never tried that, so would be interesting to know if it works.
