I've mentioned this before but given the renewed interest in a new release
of Unattended, I thought I'd mention it again.... It would be nice to have
the linux boot iso include the linux screen reader, speakup. That would
allow blind people to install Windows w/o the use oof a locally connected
PC. Unattended is really great for blind people as is because you can do an
install via serial console. But it would be way better if you could just
connect a speech synth to a PC and then do a network install.

An example of where a situation of where it is critical to have the screen
reader built into the boot ISO would be doing an install in a computer lab.
I've done some installs in such situations via a laptop connected to the
serial port of the target machine. The problem is that the speech synth
needs a serial port too so you really need a laptop with 2 serial ports. I
happen to have one of those but it's getting to be difficult to find a
laptop with even a single serial port.

Installs via the serial port are problematic anyway in that you can't really
do more than one at a time because there is no way to refresh the display.
The screen reader just reads whatever is in the character display buffer so
it can be refreshed.

I don't know how to put this... When you're blind, you're kind of at a
disadvantage anyway. Everything takes longer and there are some things you
just cannot do. So streamlining the Windows install process is a big deal.
If I can install Windows every bit as efficiently as anybody else, I'm more
likely to retain that responsibility in my job.

Any other blind people on this list?
