hm, I had the same problem on a HP nc6320 and a heavily customized unattended
from jun-aug 2006.
Right now I have a current unattended from CVS and can not boot into the
first windows start at all..

What kernel version do you use?
and dosemu, parted versions?

I would have suspected the windows drivers, but it might not be the whole
story..

Sorry, no real answer, the nc6320 also have 240 heads.
I dont have a IBM thinkpad to work on right now, so I dont know how similar
youre problem is..
