Hello,

you can have different script fort he same os. It's pretty easy. You can
point to a install script, for example, by the mac of the computer. Or you
select a script while booting unattended.

I never tried vista and unattended. But doesn't vista bring its own new roll
out system?

Betreff: [Unattended] A few questions...

Hello,

First off, a bit of background so you know where im coming from: I am
researching using your software for our Custom Computer company, Puget
Custom Computers. We are currently using disk imaging, and while it is
working just fine, it is very limited. Because of the custom nature of our
company, we regularly maintain up to 30 different images.

There are two main questions I have for you:

First, have you used Unattended to install machines with Vista? From what
Ive seen, Vista is very similar to XP, but I dont deal with the gritty
parts, so I'm not sure how closely it's file structure is to XP.

Second, like I said before, we would be using this to replace around 30
different images. How easy is it to point each install to a different
install script file? Do we need separate boot media for every type of
install, or can we just tell it which install script to use during the
initial configuration of the install? Ive looked at your "dynamic
configuration with server-side perl scripts" guide, and it talks about
having different install scripts according to the OS selected, so would it
just be an expansion on that (IE just having 30 "types" of OS)

Thank you for your time,

Matt Bach
