Yes, I did run into the long filename problem.
I did solve that (and some other problems) by adapting Mario Gzuk's script(s) 
for unattended.

Sorry, I got no netboot remedies ready for you right now.

A quick test would be to download and burn the iso,
Use the linuxaux directory and dosbin/install.pl from the archive.
You can find the files here:
http://www.source-exchange.de/unattended/nils/

(just rename youre existing linuxaux directory and dosbin/install.pl so you 
have something to go back to)

I have not yet found the time to update the patches to match the current CVS, 
and will probably not find the time for it this month.. :-/

If you (or someone else) want the patches, please let me know, they are not in 
any internet archive for some reason.

It would be great if someone beat me to update them :-)
