It is. I've had the same problem with a graphics driver for some onboard gfx 
card on a MSI board.

Yes. I also renamed the file to fit the 8.3 restrictions and modified some 
other files to point to the renamed file instead of the original one. But for 
some reason I end up with a totally fucked system because the machine displays 
everything in a dark blue at some point. Also the screen is completely 
dissorted and unreadable.
This only happens with this one driver so far. Other grahics drivers work just 
fine. I already tried using the version from the driver cd and the version from 
the MSI homepage but without much of a change.

The board is a MSI K9VGM-V. If anyone has any ideas on how to fix this...
