Hey all,

I have another dilemma on my hands. I'm realizing that the amount of
tweaks that I need to do to the user environment is just enormous, if
thinking in terms of individual registry tweaks. However, even so, I'm
willing to go through figuring them all out.

But, I have a question. From what I understand. The ntuser.dat file
under the Default User is what holds the hive that gets copied whenever
a new user profile gets created. So, for example, after WinXP is
installed and the Administrator logs in for the first time, the
ntuser.dat from Default User is copied over to Administrator's profile.

What I'm curious about is, the %winver%-tweaks.pl file modifies the
Default User hive AFTER the Administrator profile is already created. So
how do those changes migrate over to the Administrator profile? Do
changes made to the Default User somehow migrate over to profiles that
already exist? Or does the tweaks.pl make changes simultaneously to both
the default user and the current user?

I'm trying to understand exactly how this works, because I'm debating
either using premade ntuser.dat files for my initial builds, or to keep
working on tweaking the hive directly with these scripts...but I lack
the complete understanding of both right now.

Thanks,

Steve
