Hi, first of all, I'd like to wish everybody a happy new year 2010.
When running appsonly.bat script on PCs with already installed OS, I always found it annoying that installation of Perl runtime takes quite a long time. I stumbled upon this old posting by Mario Gzuk... http://osdir.com/ml/windows.unattended.devel/2005-02/msg00006.html ...and followed his description how to create a UNC-path-enabled Perl runtime. I saved my work into a zip file networked_perl_for_appsonly.zip which you can download here: http://www.box.net/shared/zyu11n8d3x To use it with appsonly.bat, rename / backup your existing perl.bat and then unzip the archive including subfolders into your \\server\install share. The Perl runtime will be placed into \\server\install\perl As always, feedback is welcome. I suppose that this could work not only for application-only installs but also for OS + application installs. But I have not tested it.
