Thanks for the replies, I will try Greg's solution to use unattend.txt.
Presumably, I assumed erroneously that if I would set the property UnattendFile
in unattend.csv to site/winxp-un.txt, that then the other properties (those
mentioned in sample-config.pl) would be read from that file, which, I gather,
is not true.
I do understand what the workarounds are, but to my mind, this part of
unattended (of which I am really a fan) can be improved. Once an UnattendFile
property has been set, I would expect all other properties to be read in the
following order:
<macaddr>,<ComputerName>,<FullName>,<OrgName>,<UnattendFile settings>,Default
A related remark: the nice thing in RIS (WDS) is the menu in which you can
choose which image to install. I would like to see something like that in
Unattended also: some part early in the install script where we can just choose
which unattended-answer file to use. The database solution can then be used to
couple mac-addresses or computernames to UnattendFile settings along the lines
above.
May I suggest these two points as feature requests?
