I found the problem, fixed by flushing the unbound.conf outgoing-interface 
Section before each session.

This looks very much like port contention. IOW something else is using the 
port, or ports that you've assigned to unbound..Sorry if someone else has 
already informed you of this. As I'm trying to get caught up on my mail. :-)
