Hi.

I think you have 512M default data seg size. You can check it "ulimit -d".
If is it true, try tune "kern.maxdsiz".
Hi,

Here's my ulimit output:

 ulimit -a
socket buffer size (bytes, -b) unlimited
core file size (blocks, -c) unlimited
data seg size (kbytes, -d) 33554432
file size (blocks, -f) unlimited
max locked memory (kbytes, -l) unlimited
max memory size (kbytes, -m) unlimited
open files (-n) 24716
pipe size (512 bytes, -p) 1
stack size (kbytes, -s) 524288
cpu time (seconds, -t) unlimited
max user processes (-u) 5547
virtual memory (kbytes, -v) unlimited
swap size (kbytes, -w) unlimited

Its set to 32G which seems to be the default on FreeBSD 8.3 amd64 as I have checked this value on a number of severs running at least 8.2 amd64 and they are all the same.

Phil
