Ini gua ada forward berhubungan Lockdown 2000

Kieth Little from "Pchelp" did a review of a program called Lockdown
2000 http://www.nwi.net/~pchelp/bo/LDtest.htm that claims to make a
computer safe from trojans and hacking. His review wasn't favorable and
Lockdown has contacted his web host and threatened to sue for big money
if they didn't remove the unfavorable review. Lockdown's side of the
story is that Keith Little has a grudge because he had asked Lockdown
for a free key code to test the program and they wouldn't give him one.
(I guess Keith doesn't know that there are several cracks that will fix
Lockdown so you can "evaluate" for as long as you want.)

I'll stick my neck out and probably get sued too... because I tried
Lockdown a few months ago and foud it TOTALLY worthless. I had a friend
connect to my computer with a backdoor program and he was writing files
and making transfers and Lockdown never woke up and recognized any of
the security breaches. I was very suspicious that the program was
really lame when I saw that it had a 3 day test period. That is very
strong evidence they want people to pay for it before they find out it's
a piece of crap. Lockdown claims to "Stop someone from getting on your
computer and reading your email, viewing sensitive data and downloading
or deleting files." This is TOTALLY FALSE. Lockdown charges $99 for a
program that the following 6 lines in your autoexec.bat will do BETTER.

DEL \patch.exe
DEL \windows\patch.exe
DEL \windows\system\windll.dll
DEL \windows\system\exe~1
DEL \windows\system\msgsv32.exe
DEL \windows\system\server.exe

It amazes me that a search on "internet trojans" turns up Lockdown2000
over 80% of the matches from all the major search engine's matches.
I have to say that the thing that disappoints me most about all this is
that so many so called security experts have written favorable reviews
that Lockdown has posted at their site.. and I know DAM well that these
"experts" NEVER tested it. If you bought this program you should demand
your money back. If you see some site giving it praise you should send
them email, suggesting that they at least TEST it and avoid the
embarassment of reaching the conclusion that it's worthwhile.

I made a mistake in the last issue when i mentioned the names of
trojans that could be deleted from Autoexec.bat. One of them
was listed as msgsv32.exe it should be msCHV32.exe ...sorry

Many people wrote to ask what those files related to. Here they
are with a several more trojan names added:

\patch.exe Netbus Trojan
\windows\patch.exe Netbus
\windows\system\windll.dll Back Orifice Trojan
\windows\system\exe~1 Back Orifice
\windows\system\mschv32.exe Master's Paradise, Blaze and Control Trojan
\windows\system\mschv.exe Master's Paradise
\windows\system\bubbel.exe Bubbel Trojan
\windows\system\system.exe NetSpy Trojan
\windows\ppmod1.sys Phineas Trojan
\windows\ppmod2.sys Phineas
\windows\windll.exe Girlfriend Trojan
\windows\system\odbc.exe Telecommando Trojan
\windows\*.tmp Acid Silver Trojan (uses random names)
\windows\system\ska.* Email Worm
\windows\system\server.exe A new Trojan that I haven't seen on any web
site yet. It's like Netbus and Back Orifice in that it hides from the
ctrl - alt - del menu and has most of the same features of Netbus but
isn't detectable with Norton Anti-virus or any trojan cleaners.

These Trojans can run from anywhere on your system.. their path will be
included in your system's register to load at startup.
symstempa.exe DeepThroat Trojan
port.dat Gate Trojan
icqfucke.exe Wincrash Trojan

Note: Most trojans have one or more of the following problems that make
them only a minor threat.
- They all require some degree of cooperation to install - usually you
know there is some risk connected with the programs you are playing with
- The effective trojans are detected by anti-viral/anti-trojan software
- Many show in the ctrl - alt - del menu, so they aren't hidden very well
- Many are too big to easily sneak/install on a system inside a greeting
  card or small joke program
- Many require visual basics libraries and/or .dll programs which are
unlikely to be installed on most systems.
