Anyone who hasn't read Nancie's The Reading Zone yet should read it now 
alongside To Understand and it will become fresh and oh-so-convincing!!
 
 
Bottom line, required reading doesn't mean boring reading. You don't haveto 
read the story just because it's in the book. But if we don't get thesekids to 
enjoy reading, then they will never be able to read self-selectedbooks which I 
think should be our ultimate goal for every student.> Bill
