Right now, I have not yet met anyone who has read To Understand first without
having some background in teaching comprehension strategies. I am thinking that
some chapters might prove more challenging than others if you don't have that
background...but Ellin herself says that Understand is not a sequel to Mosaic,
so maybe it would work.

I am especially interested in responses to this question as I have ordered
enough copies of To Understand (1 to share between each two teachers) for a
study group next year and I'm wondering now about Mosaic because I'm not sure
many have read it.I have asked my close friends if they areinterested in doing
a book study on To Understand. Do you think that it will be OK to do that if
most of them have not read Mosaic?
