Thanks Pierre,

I'm currently using the "Feisty" version of Edubuntu so that's probably why the
packages are not showing up. Thanks for the additional information also. Linux
seems to handle fonts a lot better than Windows or Macintoshes memory wise, so
loading up all of our fonts centrally on our LTSP server seems like the best
way to go to make them available to all applications.

Speaking of which, does anyone know where the best location is to save the
fonts so they are available to all applications? Currently I have them saved to
/usr/shared/fonts/opentype but only Scribus seems to be able to be configured
to see them and/or use them. Are OpenType fonts not supported by all Linux
apps? We use Gnome as the default window manager if that helps answer the
question.

Thanks everyone for your help!

Tim

Hi Tim,
Oleksandr Moskalenko, who provides packages of Scribus for Debian and Ubuntu
has added Fontmatrix to his repository, as part of the tools that can be
usefull for Scribus users. So explanations given here for Scribus are good for
Fontmatrix too (you just need to replace "feisty" by "gutsy") -

Note that Fontmatrix is very, very, very young and features are added almost
each day since now. If you're many to use it, you might want to let someone
keep in sync with svn trunk and report if what you need is not yet here.
