Does this cause loss of current database? Because revision 736 did cause a loss of the entire DB and all of the configurations, like OpenType settings and text samples.
If you need to upgrade something is ok to me, but some warning message previous to the refactoring would be much appreciated. Simply send a message to the mailing list warning users that their DB might be lost or something.
