Not so off-topic in fact. Some applications expect that families come with the 
4 "standard" variants (normal, italic, bold, bold-italic) and some fonts just 
do that by splitting larger family into chunks and putting a part of the 
variant name into the family name. Say it’s first thing that comes in mind. 
But since I don’t have this font I can’t help more at this point.
