Greetings to all,

I am a fairly recent convert to Linux, although I have had quite a bit of
experience with it indirectly when I worked in IT. Presently, my system
runs Kubuntu 17.04. Having experienced Unity and GNOME, except for a few
software issues, I can't tell you what a pleasure it is to experience the
KDE/Plasma desktop environment! But I digress. My apologies.

Undertype appears to have been known in the past as Fontmatrix, true? I
hope so, because the Ubuntu community, indeed the entire Linux community is
so much in need of a really decent font management / viewing application
and from what I have read of Undertype (née Fontmatrix), it sounds like
just what is needed.

I am a disabled person and I am just beginning to study some programming
languages, most notably Python. I do not believe I am ready to face the
challenges presented by programming on my own, but if I can begin,
apprenticed if you will, to an experienced programmer with the patience to
teach, I sincerely believe I can contribute to this project benefitting it
and myself in the bargain.

As used to be said in the military (although usually with a great deal of
sarcasm) I'm happy to be here and proud to serve! 😁
