Not sure if this news is of your concern, but let me try to translate the
main point into English. To anyone who sent this message, please pardon me

Nurcholis Majid , the daughter & A Jew
On Sep 30, 2001, a number of Indonesians who lived in Washington (DC?)
wondered when attending the wedding ceremony of Murcholis Majid's daughter,
Nadya. She is married to a Russian Jew. It took place in Nadya's
apartment in Washington DC. What made them wondered was that Nurcholis
Majid, who led the ceremony, did not follow any religious procedures,
neither Jewish nor Islam. He led the ceremony in English. He mentioned by
the name of GOD. According to Syamsi Ali, an Islamic teacher in New York,
this was a universal marriage. Islamic Center Washington DC, located in
Massachussets Ave, was reserved for the wedding, although the Islamic
Center rejected it because the ceremony did not follow Islamic procedure &
the groom is a Jew. Nurcholis Majid, via Noer Adnan the VOA senior
broadcaster, requested the Imam of Pakistani Masjid in Washington DC, who
often leads inter-religious marriages, to lead the ceremony. The Imam did
not show up. Finally Nurcholis had to lead the ceremony. Both Nurcholis
and Adnan did not want to reply to any comments on this.
