I do not know the degree of evil they have (I'd say minor), but
certainly they have the disadvantage that surrounding ASCII text
can become mangled and thus turn to be unreadable with unaware
mail agents. This is a problem only for us Latin non-English
users, which certainly further reduces the evilness.
