The international standard

  ISO/IEC 10646-1:2000
  Information technology --
Universal Multiple-Octet Coded Character Set (UCS) --
Part 1: Architecture and Basic Multilingual Plane

  Edition: 2 (Monolingual)
  Number of pages: 992
  Price code: J (80 CHF)

was published 2000-10-05 according to

  http://www.iso.ch/cate/d29819.html

and you can now order via credit card your copy (either on paper or PDF
CD-ROM) from the above URL for just 80 CHF (~53 EUR, ~45 USD, ~32 GBP).
Certainly a must-have reference for anyone interested in i18n and font
issues.

The price appears to be surprisingly civilized, compared to the many
many hundred CHF that ISO usually charges for a 1000 page document. It
seems the competition of the Unicode 3.0 book had a very healthy impact
on ISO's marketing strategy here. [Unfortunately, it hasn't affected the
price of other standards: For instance, ISO 9899:1999 (Programming
languages -- C) is certainly equally prominent as UCS, has half as many
pages, but still costs 334 CHF.]
