This is not strictly speaking an answer to your question as I don't have a 
typical pre-installed Japanese Windows system (which of the many recent 
version of Windows is typical anyway?).  Some of these fonts are pre-
installed on particular language varieties of Windows and some come with 
language enabling kits for Internet Exporer or with some other product.  Only 
glyph-counts are given (not the number of ideographs), but it should give you
