Well, CJK don't always go together in information processing and that's one of myths to be dispelled in I18N community. Korean fonts need not be huge and wasn't so in good(?) old days of 8bit Apple II,'pseudo-16bit' MS-DOS and Korean incarnation of MacOS System 6 in late 80's (and even in X11, we have used zero-width/non-advancing glyphs for Hangul vowels/consonants to compose glyphs for Hangul syllables the on-the-fly). That's still the case if 'smart font' rendering support can be made use of for Korean script rendering as well as for rendering Indic and Thai/Lao scripts and Latin with diacritics. Jungshik Shin
