Can someone tell me what the current status of encoding Sanskrit (Vedic) characters in the UCS is? Have any formal proposals been made yet or are any being planned? Also, what about the alternate shapes for certain Devanagari numerals like 9 that are mentioned at: http://www.evertype.com/standards/iso10646/pdf/vedic/
