I would argue against unification: the skull and crossed bones has 
additional meanings beyond "poison". Although the vision of Disney's 
Pirates of the Caribbean flying the "Yucky Roger" is enticing, I can 
imagine the need for plain text use of U+2620 where the alternate glyph 
simply wouldn't do.
