I was pleasantly surprised to find that "chcp 65001" (change code page to
UTF-8) worked in a DOS window, and that I was actually able to input and
display non-ASCII UTF-8 characters (Latin, Greek, Russian) while running in
the US-English locale. I had to use the Lucida Console TT font (wonder why
that's not the default...).

However, I ran into problems running .cmd or .bat files from that DOS
window. I couldn't find anything about this on the MS web site. Does anyone
know anything about this? Is there anyone out there using this feature?

Thanks,
Joe
