> I don't remember any more: How many verb forms are there in Attic Greek?
Too dang many. ;-) voice: active, middle, passive mood: indicative, subjunctive, optative, imperative, infinitive, participle tense: present, imperfect, future, aorist, perfect, pluperfect, future perfect person: first, second, third number: singular, dual, plural gender (for particples): masculine, feminine, neuter Smyth's Greek Grammar lists (counting alternate forms) 396 forms for the "regular" verb conjugation in -omega. And that is before you start figuring the different sets of endings for contracted vowel stem verbs, consonant stem verbs, -mi stem verbs and a couple hundred irregular verbs on top of that! --Ken
