Rick is right - while the letters "UTF" are not a formal trademark, they 
should be treated by convention as if they were: "UTF" should be reserved 
for transformations that are standardized.

If this hasn't always been done in the past, then it should be done 
religiously from now on. For those of you who delight in bit-twiddling 
transformation puzzlers: Use another catchy 3 or 4 letter jingle for your 
creations - and then go and have fun.
