... A bad copy/paste included San Marino in EFTA, instead of Iceland... Sorry for this typo. EFTA is, along with EU, a regional organization within the larger EEA for Economical interests, and CoE for the justice and human rights domain. In preparation to EU membership, EEA membership is required (this is already true for Turkey, and now with Croatia, whose negociations with EU for membership has just started after being rejected in the past due to the lack of cooperation for the resolution of war crimes in the former Yugoslavia, something still not adressed in Bosnia-Herzegovina, and Serbia-Montenegro, which could join later). Negociations with Switzerland and Norway are still open within the EEA, but the EFTA still plays a larger role for them. No idea about Iceland's desire to join the EU.
