Can you give us examples, what they looked like? Were they just the
usual "Arabic" Arabic numerals? (Not to be confused with the "Western"
Arabic numerals, 0123456789). The numerals used in most Arab countries
are at U+0660 through U+0669.

Hi,
I was in Egypt in 1995 for a bit. They had numbers I
don't know on the buses in Cairo etc.
Does anyone know if modern Egyptian numbers are
unique, or regional in North Africa or other? Are
they the 'real' Arabic numbers, and ours are medieval
and derivative?
I looked at the numeration systems in the recent final
Coptic proposal, but I saw nothing familiar
( http://std.dkuug.dk/jtc1/sc2/wg2/docs/n2636.pdf ).
Thanks, Elaine
