http://archive.org/details/bitsavers_sdcjovialTerDec61_12294913 is a 1961 programming book on the programming language Jovial. On page 7ff is a character I've never seen before; I'm pretty sure it's overprinting, but I'm not sure of what. I've attached an image to this email message.
The text says "The metasymbol ð’€— signifies syntactic equivalence, while the colon signifies concatenation and the semicolon ; signifies selection between adjacent elements." -- Kie ekzistas vivo, ekzistas espero.
