letters, contains more than 30 instances of IJ or ij (the separate
Basic Latin letters) and zero instances of IJ or ij.

íj́, as others have observed, is trivially simple.

The precomposed version isn't recommended anymore.
The ij evolved from ii, because ii is indistinguishable from ü in handwriting.
