However, the typewriter had non-spacing keys for repha (roughly <RA,VIRAMA>) and vattu (<VIRAMA, RA>), so you'll be out of luck for consonant clusters. On the other hand, <KA, VIRAMA, SSA> is two key strokes - the cells would be for <KA, VIRAMA, SSA, VIRAMA> and <SIGN AA>!
