Sure,
under Solaris (SPARC) and Linux this is what I commonly use.
(See configuration scripts for unix under unicon/config/unix and you will
find some for gcc).
Under NT I think the only compiler available is VC++. I saw that Borland
is giving its C++ compiler v. 5.5 (core of C++Builder) for free, it would
be nice to check it out.
