[Shamim writes about removing destroying our obsolete RPM's and eliminating
plans to provide RPM's in the future.]

Hmm, I am willing to nuke the obsolete RPM's, especially if someone can
provide me with a better set of Linux binary distributions.

I'm interested in hearing others' views on what formats we should distribute
UNIX (and Linux) binaries in. I could also use help in constructing,
testing, and maintaining binary distributions.

In addition to discussing whether to drop RPM, we probably should address a
general question of how to put binary-distribution-construction materials
into CVS. I've avoided doing this so far because (a) Windows Icon distros
used to be constructed using proprietary tools, and (b) some distros, maybe
including RPM, leave around various binary artifacts that CVS is not very
good at handling. (a) will no longer be true in the next release, and
(b) is no excuse. I gues we need a dist/ directory similar to config/
that contains platform-specific distribution construction files.
