Has anyone made a Linux/RH rpm of a Unicon executable?

I've successfully built the program with the -B switch to include
the interpreter in with the executable. When I compile this from
the command line, the resulting executable runs fine.

However, when I try to make an rpm out of it, the rpm processor
does some strange things (brp-compress, brp-strip, and
brp-strip-comment-note, among other things). It makes the rpm
fine, but after the rpm install, the executable outputs

  error in startup code
  mcdu: cannot open interpreter file

Has anyone done this successfully? Any suggestions?
