Thanks for your report, including the suggested CFLAGS fix. The libz business (and perhaps even the CFLAGS thing you mention) is handled in Unicon these days by autoconf, but the openbsd Makedefs haven't yet been updated to use our autoconf-defined symbols; diff'ing openbsd's Makedefs against a more recent one such as config/unix/amd64_linux/Makedefs shows what is needed; look for @ signs that delimit autoconf-defined macros. We're always greatful for configuration file updates on any platform folks are using.
