Shocking! I am not sure whether it would be more embarrassing if the Unicon book documented code that wasn't CVS committed yet, documented some wishful thinking vaporware that was intended but never coded at all, or some improper CVS commit eliminated this feature by replacing it with older code in src/runtime/fsys.r, and no one noticed until now.
