Jonathan Kaye's post got me checking the book. Very little is said about
&features. While I generaly understand there is a correspondance between
&features and preprocessor symbols. They don't exactly match. The
preprocessor is listed with features (and &features appears nowhere on the
page).
A quick check between my unicon and the book they all matched but for these
&features results: DBM, environment variables, 3D graphics, SQL via ODBC.
